2018 SUMMER CAMP MEETING – TARKWA DISTRICT<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\"\"<\/a>The 2018 summer camp meeting was hosted by Nichiren Shoshu of Ghana, Tarkwa District.<\/p>\n

Members arrived at Dadwen School Complex, Nsuta Wassa camp in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality in the Western Region of Ghana on Friday, 30th<\/sup> March, 2018.<\/p>\n

ACTIVITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>On Saturday 31th<\/sup> March, 2018 at 8:00 am about thirty (30) members in the company of the Chief Priest, Reverend Shindo Imafuku, Assistant Priest Josen Suenaga and some Kanji embarked on a hiking exercise through the operational area of Ghana Manganese Company (GMC), a company noted to have mined manganese since the colonial times. Hikers went through the (GMC) concession to Akyem, Akyempim, Tamso and back to the camp, a journey of about 12 kilometers.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On Sunday, 1st<\/sup> April, 2018, two bus load of members, Kanji, the Chief Priest and Assistant Priest travelled from Tarkwa to Beyin and by canoes to Nzuleso village. The village is built on stilts and sits on the huge Amanzule river in the Jomoro District of Western Ghana. At Nzuleso, members toured the village which according to a spokesperson has a population of five hundred (500). \u00a0A briefing by an elder of the village narrated the history of the village and the cause of their settling at that vicinity.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Gongyo sessions during the Summer Camp Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>A donation of exercise books, pencils and boxes of chalk by Tarkwa members on behalf of Nichiren Shoshu of Ghana, were made to the village school. The Nzuleso trip was particularly significant as some members overcame their fear of travelling on water bodies for the first time. Surely, chanting Nam- Myoho \u2013 Renge – Kyo removes our fear.<\/p>\n

The 2018 Summer Camp Meeting ended with a closing session at 9:30 am on Monday 2nd<\/sup> April, 2018. The closing remarks were delivered by the Chief Priest, and Koto, Dr. Odame Boamah.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Samples of Manganese Oxide and Carbonates were presented to the Chief Priest, the Assistant, Priest, some Kanji and district leaders as a show of Tarkwa members\u2019 gratitude to all for their participation and success of the meeting. More satisfying was the safe arrival of members to their home districts.<\/p>\n
