The goal of believers of Nichiren Shoshu is to establish a happy life condition for ourselves as well as to realize a truly peaceful society.<\/p>\n

Buddhism teaches that true happiness for a human being is enlightenment, or Buddhahood.\u00a0 Enlightenment does not mean to become a Buddha after one\u2019s death or to become a supernatural being.\u00a0 Enlightenment is to achieve the life condition of unshakable happiness through forming ideal characteristics in our real life.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Buddha is endowed with the three virtues: (1) Hosshin (2) Hannya and (3) Gedatsu.\u00a0 These virtues are interpreted as (1) pure life (2) wisdom to judge things correctly and (3) unrestricted life condition to overcome problems and sufferings, respectively.\u00a0 Common mortals can also obtain these virtues, overcome any difficulty and live with strong confidence by taking faith in the true law.<\/p>\n

Nichiren Daishonin, the True Buddha of the Latter Days of the Law, revealed the true teachings of Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo in order to bring peace to all the people.\u00a0 The Daishonin bequeathed these teachings to the disciples and believers of later generations.\u00a0 Therefore, we have a mission to propagate this Buddhism around the world in order to create a truly peaceful society.\u00a0 Propagation of this Buddhism is called Kosenrufu.<\/p>\n

Thus, the goal of Nichiren Shoshu is to attain enlightenment and achieve Kosenrufu by correctly practicing the teachings of Nichiren Daishonin.<\/p>\n
