Shindo Imafuku, the Koto, Dr. Kwame Odame Boamah and two Kanji members, Nana Kojo Baaah Tieku I (formerly known as Mr. Kojo Anim-Biney) and Mr. Matthew Owusu Mensah visited the Kumasi District from 22<sup>nd<\/sup> to 23<sup>rd<\/sup> July, 2017. The aim of the visit was to encourage the leaders and the members of Kumasi District to achieve our Shakubuku target for the year and also a preparation for the achievement of the attendance of 500 members from the district at this year\u2019s Oeshiki ceremony in October at the Hokkeji Temple in Accra. A leaders\u2019 meeting was held on the Saturday, 22nd July 2017 and a general meeting with the all members on the Sunday, 23<sup>rd<\/sup> July 2017 at the Nichiren Shoshu of Ghana, Buddhist Activity Centre, in Kumasi.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>ALL LEADERS MEETING WITH REV. SHINDO IMAFUKU<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The meeting started at exactly 4:00 p.m. with one hour shodai and evening Gongyo. \u00a017 leaders were in attendance. The district leader, Dr. Kwaku Nyame, welcomed the Chief Priest and his entourage and introduced them to the leaders. After that, the leaders from the district also introduced themselves and their blocks they represent to the Chief Priest. Many of the block leaders from outstations could not attend.<\/p>\n<p>After the introductions, Koto, Dr. Boamah informed leaders of the purpose of the visit and encouraged the leaders to achieve our shakubuku target for the year and explained why it is important for Ghanaian members to achieve our shakubuku target for this year. He further explained and urged the Youth Leaders to take up the task and make efforts to revitalize activities at the block level and promote our block meetings.<\/p>\n<p>He again spoke about our preparation towards Oeshiki ceremony which is to be used as the kick-off meeting to our 20<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary, February next year. He emphasized on the promise made by Chief Priest to 68<sup>th<\/sup> High Priest, Nichinyo Shonin, that the Hokkeji temple will achieve its Shakubuku target this year this in order to repay our debt of gratitude to the Honorably Retired High Priest Nikken Shonin and High Priest Nichinyo Shonin for granting us this temple. The Chief of Overseas Department, Rev. Gyoyu Urushibata, priests from the Overseas Department of Nichiren Shoshu and Priests from other Overseas Temples and Hokkeko members from Japan, Taiwan and other countries will attend the 20<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary ceremony in February, 2018. Koto reminded leaders of our targets for this Oeshiki and encouraged us that we do a lot of home visitation to enable us to achieve our target of 500 members attendance at the Oeshiki Ceremony in October. He also encouraged us to make Gokuyo towards the renovation works at the Hokkeji Temple and also the special Gokuyo to the Head Temple for construction of the Sanmon Gate.<\/p>\n<p>Rev. Imafuku gave Guidance on how to improve on the activities of the district, by concentrating on the Blocks. He encouraged the leaders to \u201c<strong>CHANGE<\/strong>\u201d and be good examples for the other members and make strenuous efforts towards achieving our targets for the year. The Chief Priest likening the structure of a family to explain how the various divisions Hokkeko relate to each other, Rev. The meeting was attended by 178 members including the Koto and two other Kanji members. Eight new members received Gojukai during the meeting. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.senmyozanhokkejitemple.com\/index.php\/en\/2017\/08\/16\/chief-priest-visit-to-kumasi-district\/olympus-digital-camera-34\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-861\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-861 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.senmyozanhokkejitemple.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/P7230255-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.senmyozanhokkejitemple.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/P7230255-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.senmyozanhokkejitemple.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/P7230255-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.senmyozanhokkejitemple.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/P7230255-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>This brought to 51 new members who had received Gojukai in Kumasi District this year. The district has thus achieved its shakubuku target for the year with the visit of the Chief Priest. The district leader welcomed the Chief Priest and his entourage and introduced them to the members. Reverend Imafuku announced his appreciation to the District and congratulated us for achieving our target for the year and urged us all to continue to do shakubuku since Ghana is yet to achieve its shakubuku target for the year.<\/p>\n<p>Reverend Imafuku gave a Lecture on the topic \u201cWhy faith and practice are indispensable in our lives using a Buddhist parable of a Traveler\u201d which was translated by Mr. R.B Kwanin. There was question and answer session after the Chief Priest lecture.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After the lectures, Koto, Dr. Boamah also informed the district of the purpose of their visit and congratulated members for achieving our target for the year. He then thanked former Leaders of the District and applauded them for their enormous contribution to the development of the district during their tenure and urged them to continue to support the newly appointed leaders in their activities.<\/p>\n<p>He again introduced the newly appointed leaders to the meeting and encouraged members to accept the change and work together towards the achievement of Kosen Rufu of Kumasi and Ghana as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Nyame, the district leader thanked the Chief Priest and his entourage for their visit and guidance. The meeting came to a close with evening Gongyo a commemorative photograph. The meeting ended at 1:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>The visit of the Chief Priest visit afforded us the opportunity to achieve our district Shakubuku target, deepened our faith and practice and also our resolve to contribute to the achievement of kosen rufu of\u00a0 \u00a0Ghana and Africa. We are resolved to do more Shakubuku so that we can realize the shakubuku target for Ghana and that of the chapter this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Chief Priest, Rev.
